Want to Submit?
We're excited to read what you have written! Here are just some guidelines to get you started:
Please limit your film, play or TV scripts to 5-15 pages, single spaced and with a standard font (i.e. Times New Roman for play scripts, Courier New for screenplays, etc.).
If you have a longer script, please just send us the excerpt of your favorite scenes to fit the page limit, with the note that it is part of a larger work.
Yes! We do ask, however, that you inform us if your script is a simultaneous or previously-accepted submission.
For previously-accepted scripts, please tell us when submitting where else your script has been published.
In the event that your script is accepted for publication elsewhere, congratulations! Please do inform us of this fact, however, by sending an email to scenes.submissions@gmail.com with your name, title of script, and the name of the publication that is publishing your work. Your submission will not be withdrawn unless it infringes on the exclusive publishing rights of the other publication, and you will be informed if this is the case.
Please direct all submissions to scenes.submissions@gmail.com with the subject line [Name]: [Form] - [Genre] Submission. Attach your submission to your email in a docx or pdf form.
Make sure that your script is single-spaced, in a standard font (Times New Roman for play scripts, Courier New for screenplays, etc.), and between 5-15 pages in length.
A cover letter is not required, but feel free to say a quick hello or include a cover letter if you'd like!
If you’d like you can also include an artistic statement for one or all of your pieces max 50 words— though it is not required.
Please attach a short (approx. less than 50 word) third person bio with your pronouns. OPTIONAL: you may include websites/social media handles or a photo of yourself for publication if you'd like.
Please do not submit more than 3 scripts.
If you have been rejected, please wait until the next submission cycle to resubmit. If you have been accepted, please wait at least two submission cycles to allow other contributors a chance to showcase their work!
